The Care Inspectorate celebrates living wage commitment

We are proud to announce that we are now an accredited Living Wage employer. The Living Wage is a voluntary commitment made by the organisation, which will ensure everyone working with us receives a real living wage of at least £8.45 per hour. This will also be built into our procurement procedures to ensure our contractors also meet this commitment.

Lead in drinking water

In Scotland, lead does not occur naturally in significant concentrations in our water supplies. The problem arises when drinking water comes into contact with lead supply pipes, lead tanks, lead solder joints on copper pipes, or inferior quality brass fittings and taps, particularly for longer periods (e.g. overnight/weekends/holiday periods). This can result in high lead levels in the drinking water supply.
